New Map: Mount Oomf

Introducing Mount Oomf, an expansive and challenging new map set on the steep slopes of the enormous Mount Oomf. This map is significantly larger and more complex than the existing Prong Meadow. Key features include:

Dynamic Pathways

FOMO flows and rockfalls change over the rounds to alter the terrain, creating and destroying paths, adding an element of storytelling and disruption to your strategies.

Ferocious FomosorusRex

A dangerous FomosorusRex awakens after a few rounds, attacking anything in its path, including both enemies and your Guardian. With high HP, he is a fearsome adversary. If its target is distant, it will charge to close the gap. Use it strategically by luring it towards your enemies, but beware, this alliance is temporary. The FomosorusRex will attack your Guardian even during the preparation phase if close enough.

Despite its dangers, Mount Oomf is a visually stunning map, full of mysterious and treacherous areas waiting to be explored. Prepare for an adventure filled with peril and beauty as you navigate the unpredictable terrain and face the mighty FomosorusRex on Mount Oomf!

New Tower: Fomocano

Introducing our 5th tower: Fomocano! This blazing tower specializes in AOE (Area of Effect) damage. Although it has a longer cooldown between attacks, each strike is devastating, and its attack range is one of the highest among towers.

Fomocano Characteristics

The Volcano is a shy yet powerful structure, displaying a shocked expression as it launches balls of lava at enemies within its range.

Ultimate Ability - Molten Eruption

When triggered, the Volcano channels a massive eruption, sending smaller molten rocks to random locations along the path. These molten rocks deal less damage, have a smaller AOE range, and leave behind Molten Impact areas that deal normal damage over time.

Embrace the power of the Volcano to incinerate your foes with devastating AOE attacks and strategically unleash its ultimate ability for maximum impact!

Progression

New End of Match

Introducing a revamped End of Match flow that provides you with detailed information about your XP progression:

Total Experience Gained

See a breakdown of the experience earned during the match:

• Placement: Higher ladder positions yield more XP.
• First Win of the Day: Bonus XP for your first victory each day.
• Top 4 Finishes: Earn XP up to three times a day for finishing in the top 4.
• Match Participation: Gain XP up to four times a day simply by playing matches.
• Level Progress: Track your progress towards the next level for each Guardian.

Important Update: Previously, all Guardians were at max level. Now, we will start at Level 1 for each basic Guardian and will need to level them up by earning XP through gameplay. Additionally, the Pirate Guardian will be locked. To unlock the Pirate Guardian, you must reach Level 15 with the Soldier of Fortune.

New Badges

Unlock and earn new badges by achieving specific milestones in matches, connected to the new map and tower. These badges come with exciting rewards that you will need to claim after the end of the match in the new flow. You can check them out in your player profile.

Improvements

• Iggly's AOE is now more visible on the path, with enhanced frosty effects making it stand out even more.
• New Range FX that is more visible.
• New Daash arrow graphics that support verticality (required for Mount Oomf).
• AI learned to run away from Fomosaurus!
• New win/lose animation to fit our style more (TBD I don’t know if it’s important to add).
• Guardians now move at preparation speed after killing the last enemy in a round.
• Fixed the Lickquidator offscreen indicator (was not working as intended).
• Fixed Metamask login.
• Removed notifications on the left that would sometimes stay stuck forever.
• Improved the login button in the top right.
• Can no longer play standard or custom lobby modes when logged out.
• [Funguy] Level colors improved.
• Fixed a bug that made Lickquidator spawner holograms block mouse over the spawners.
• Menus like Guardian picker and settings have a new background image.
• Added an X in the corner of the disconnect popup.
• Fixed a bug that prevented star progression when playing the first match with AI.

Balance Changes

• [Soldier of Fortune] Reduced interest gained from High Interest from +2%/+4%/+6% to +1%/+2%/+3%.
• [Pirate] Increased coins retained after activating treasure cheat with Secret Compartments from 20%/40%/60% to 30%/60%/90%.
• [Glittering Blunderbuss] Added in a base damage (free) of 20/40/60/80/100.
• [Glittering Blunderbuss] Decreased base cost of each point of damage from 7 to 4.
• [Steady Lad] Changed the sticky ammo root duration from always 4 seconds to increase with level to 1/1.5/2/2.5/3/4 seconds.
• [Daash Boots] Player is now invulnerable when dashing.
• [SUS Nest] Fixed a bug that caused SUS Nest to be unable to attack Mamaship.

Gotchi Guardians:

For our Mac users: When you download Gotchi Guardians, you might see a “damaged app” warning. Don’t worry, there’s a simple fix!

• Open terminal
• Navigate to the directory where you downloaded the app with the command cd ~/Downloads
• Execute next command: xattr -cr GotchiGuardians v0.5.0.app
