Release Notes

Gotchi Guardians v0.6.0 Patch Notes

This latest update for Gotchi Guardians focuses on polishing and improving existing content while introducing new features like the in-game shop, G-Bucks, and a new Guardian, the Aarcher.

New Features

In-Game Shop & G-Bucks!

The Gotchi Guardians in-game shop is here, supported by G-Bucks, a new in-game currency.

Each 1,000 G-Bucks costs $0.99 USD. Currently, G-Bucks can only be purchased with GHST, with fiat as a payment method added soon.

What Can You Buy with G-Bucks?

  • Guardian XP to accelerate your progress.
  • Stickers.
  • Guardian Starter Packs.

Guardian Starter Packs

Guardian Starter Packs are here to help you quick-start a Guardian, level up faster, and get some shiny new cosmetic items.

Each Starter Pack comes with themed rewards, including:

  • A beautiful custom 3D Guardian skin
  • Aavegotchi Gaming Console profile items (Avatar, Border, Title, Sticker, and Banner)
  • A mountain of Guardian XP (enough to boost your Guardian to level 15!)

This release introduces three Guardian starter packs:

  • Cyber Knight
  • Bling Soldier of Fortune
  • Rustic Farmer

Starter Packs can be purchased in the Gotchi Guardians Shop using G-Bucks.

Note: Currently, the assets are not minted on-chain or tradable, but will be minted after the launch of Geist.

Stickers

You can now emote in style by collecting stickers earned through badges or purchased from our new shop.

Each player can bring up to five stickers into a match. Want to add some randomness? Simply add the Random Sticker to one of your slots, and each time you open the sticker emote menu, it will randomly equip one sticker from your collection that you aren’t currently using!

The Glossary

Ever wonder what exactly SUS Nest does? Or what the special upgrade of Dire Tire is?

Now you can easily find this information in the Glossary, a comprehensive guide to all things Gotchi Guardians.

Additionally, it provides an easy way for you to review and select the cosmetics you want to bring into battle, making it a versatile tool for both learning and personalization in Gotchi Guardians.

New Game Mechanics

New Guardian: The Aarcher

The Aarcher has mastered the art of the bow, taking pride in their ability to hit a target from great distances with pinpoint accuracy.

The Aarcher is a long-range combat specialist, excelling at keeping threats at bay and dealing significant damage from a distance.

Tech Trees:

  • Maaster Bow: Unlocks the true potential of the bow, enabling critical strikes and the ability to fire two arrows at once.
  • Iggly Traap: Slows enemies down, keeping them trapped in the Aarcher’s deadly range.
  • Loooong Pew Pew: Enhances long-range attacks for unmatched precision and power.
  • Poison Maaster Bow: Adds poison to arrows, dealing additional damage over time.

New Items

  • Maaster Bow: A long-range bow dealing powerful single-target damage.
  • Rusty Cleaver: Adds cleave damage to your Guardian’s attacks, effective for both melee and ranged combat.

SUS Nest Rework

The SUS Nest has been completely rebalanced to provide more utility as a status-effect tower. The butterfly distribution has changed to a 3/6/9 format, with the tower now being significantly cheaper but dealing less damage. SUS Butterflies hit enemies, deal damage, and apply a slow effect before returning to the flower, offering a more dynamic and visually engaging attack.

Maagik Crystals Rework:

  • Shocking Crystals: Adds a short stun to 1/3 of the butterflies before the slow is applied, perfect for quick escapes.
  • Poisonous Crystals: Adds poison damage to 1/3 of the butterflies, stacking damage over time.
  • Extra Frosty Crystals: Adds a second ground-based slow to 1/3 of the butterflies, similar to Igglies, but with a smaller area of effect.

Bull Market 2.0

The market system has been updated with a clearer UI, showcasing the current market state—whether Ape, Bull, Crab, or Bear. All Bull Market towers across the level and among players share the same market state.

At the beginning of each match, the global investment value for the Bull Market is set to 0. As players spend money on Bull Market towers, this global investment value increases by the amount spent. When players sell their Bull Market assets, the global investment value decreases by the corresponding amount.

The market totems for all Bull Market towers shift depending on the current global investment value, visually representing the state of the market.

At the start of each round, the global investment value decreases by 25% or a minimum of 250, adding a dynamic element to the market's stability. In contrast, for a Bear Market, the reduction works in reverse.

The global investment value is capped, with a maximum of 2,000 and a minimum of -1,000, ensuring the market fluctuates within a defined range.

FOMOsaurus 2.0

At the start of Round 6, the FOMOsaurus awakens and starts chasing the player. Simultaneously, a button appears, allowing players to spawn a higher-level FOMOsaurus (up to level 6) for all players. The cost to summon the next FOMOsaurus is halved once you’ve defeated your own, and players receive 40% of their spent income back when summoning higher-level FOMOsauruses.

Minor Improvements

General

  • New grid shader for improved visual clarity.
  • Updated avatars, frames, and titles, so you can see cosmetics in the outcome screen and room lobbies.
  • Hiding UI now changed from just pressing U to requiring you to press Alt+U.
  • Added highlights to health bars when placing the mouse over enemies to make it easier to see when zoomed out.
  • You can now see tooltips for Guardian talents in locked trees.
  • Holding the upgrade button now allows you to purchase the maximum level for a tower in one go.
  • New visual effects for Slow and Poison status.
  • Social buttons linking to Discord and X (formerly Twitter) added to the world map.

Mount Oomf

  • Reduced the mining pickaxe VFX in Mount Oomf.
  • Updated VFX for Mount Oomf, including less frequent but larger fireball effects and animated palm trees.

Balance Changes

Guardians

Farmer

  • Increased Vitamin Overload's damage buff from:
    • Previous: 10% / 20% / 30%
    • New: 15% / 30% / 45%
  • Increased tower sell bonus from +1% to +2%. In total, players receive 75% base cost back when they sell a tower. With all 10 potential points spent here, it would mean that players would lose only 5% (95% return) of their investment when selling towers, making strategic adjustments easier.

Soldier of Fortune

  • Re-arranged the talent tree order to:

    • Midaas Bag
    • Golden Armor
    • Ready Bonus
    • Placement

This allows low-level Soldiers of Fortune to have a more interactive starting item, making him more fun for newer players.

Lickquidators

Licker

  • Stun duration buffed from:

    • Previous: 1 / 1.4 / 1.8 / 2.2 / 2.6 / 3 seconds

    • New: 400 / 800 / 1500 / 3100 / 7000 / 12000

Towers

Generally, we wanted to increase tower prices to give more rewards for players who get more $$. This should also make it harder to get max-level towers everywhere. As a consequence, we lowered the income from making towers.

General

  • Decreased income ratio for buying towers and upgrades from 15% to 12%.
